Guidelines for planning and design of Seniors Housing, to support the SEPP (Housing) 2021 (NSW) Department of Planning, Housing & Infrastructure 

Calderflower were commissioned by the state government to provide Seniors Housing planning guidelines to support the new SEPP (Housing) 2021.

The 80+ page document provides an overview of seniors’ housing, building types and configurations plus six guiding principles for design:

• Care for planet
• Site-specific environmental response
• Site-specific urban response
• Care, wellbeing and community
• Design for physical ageing and dementia
• Good design

NSW DPIE looked to Calderflower’s extensive experience and respected position as thought- leaders across the Seniors Housing industry, to create forward-looking guidelines that highlight the difference between Seniors Housing and standard apartment design.
