Lara Calder Managing Director As the Managing Director of Calderflower, Lara leads the practice to challenge the conventions of aged care, seniors living, childcare, social housing and community design. Her approach to architecture is refreshingly alternative and she is motivated to deliver and positively influence the future needs for the care and accommodation of the elderly. With a professional background in health, Lara is uniquely positioned to bring a fresh perspective to aged care and continues to actively research and serve on multiple committees championing progressive and sustainable architecture and design.

Bradley Wahl AssociateBradley joined the Calderflower team bringing with him more than 24 years of architectural experience across a diverse range and size of projects both in Australia and overseas. Bradley is particularly experienced at delivering documentation for complex and large building projects, utilising his skills in Building Information Modelling and his years of experience in the construction industry.He has a keen interest in and understanding of sustainable architecture as well as prefabricated and off-site construction techniques.

Polly Jankov AssociatePolly joined the Calderflower team with both a Bachelor’s Degree and Masters in Architecture from the University of Sydney. She has since become a highly valued member of the team with the ability to seamlessly take projects from early feasibility through to documentation and completion. Polly is particularly inspired by the design of adaptable and flexible spaces that engage the senses and help prolong the lifecycle of a building. She believes in the importance of a connection to the outside world and the end user experience.

Martin McCarthy AssociateMartin has spent most of his career working alongside Lara Calder and brings a passion for aged care to the Calderflower team. He graduated from Victoria University, Wellington, New Zealand with a Bachelor Degree in Building Science and first class Honours Degree in Architecture. For more than 32 years Martin has worked as an Architect in New Zealand, Australia and Japan giving him diverse experience and exposure to various cultural contexts. Martin’s primary focus is architecture for care, specifically aged care and he is particularly interested in the way buildings respond to their context.

Paul Myers AssociatePaul has spent his career with Calderflower as an Associate working across the many aspects of aged care projects. Paul’s practical and thorough approach makes him a great asset to the team and has seen him develop a considerable depth of knowledge in project design and documentation, coordinating consultants, tenders and project administration. Paul has a deep knowledge of the statutory regulations and requirements and builds excellent working relationships with clients, consultants and builders. His architectural expertise also includes Contract Administration and Quality Assurance.
