Yallambee Village - Aged Care
BCAC Yallambee is a 60 bed Aged Care Facility that is built over three floors. The residents reside of the ground and first floor with a basement for car parking and services.
The building is designed to feel light and airy, and aid the residents in being comfortable and relaxed within its walls. The lounge and activities rooms are joined by large void spaces that overlook the garden and give the building an indoor/outdoor feel.
Over 75% of resident’s rooms receive natural light. Along the first floor corridors adjoining the rooms, there are light wells on the north side that capture the light and reduce the need for intensive lighting during the day. On the south side these light wells are fitted into the raked ceilings and ensuites to again capture the northerly light and decrease reliance on artificial lighting.
The façade of the building is treated with basic but maintenance free materials including face bricks, galvanised steel, zincalume roofing and rainwater goods, and clear anodised windows.
